Research Experience/ Training:

  1. Two week summer training (Aug 1997) on “Quality Assessment of Essential Oil” under the supervision of Dr. A Lehri at Fragrance and Flavor Development Centre (FFDC), Kannauj, UP, India.

  1. One year research experience on “Design and Synthesis of Potential Anti-AIDS compounds” under the able guidance of Hon’ble Dr. (Late) R Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Apllied Chemistry, Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Banaras-225001, India.

  2. Lab orientation training (1-15 April 2001) on “Solid Phase Combinatorial Synthesis” under the supervision of Dr. B Kundu, Scientist E 2, Medicinal Chemistry Division, Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, India.

  1. Two week lab orientation training (16-30 April 2001) on “Structural characterization of carbohydrates by NMR techniques” under the supervision of Dr. R Roy. Scientist E 2, Regional Sophisticated Instrument Centre, CDRI, Lucknow, India.

  1. Four years research experience on “Design and synthesis of Carbohydrate derivatives as potential biodynamic agents” under the guidance of Dr. R P Tripathi, Senior Assistant Director, Medicinal Chemistry Division, Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow-226001, India. During my doctoral work, I have been involved to synthesized glycosyl amino esters; glycosyl amino acids; glycosyl amino alcohols; galactopyranosyl amino alcohols; glycosyl N-Formyl analogs; N1, Nn - diglycosylated diaminoalkanes; N1, Nn - diglycosylated diaminoalcohols; 7-O- acetamidyl-4-alkyl-2H-1-benzopyran-2-ones; C-Nucleosides; unnatural N-Nucleosides; 3,5-disubstituted thiadiazine thiones; Glycosyl enaminones; Glycosyl pyridinone; a-Mannosylated phenolics; Glycosyl, Galactosyl, Mannosyl, Aryl and Heteroaryl phenolics cyclopropyl derivatives; N1 - glycosylated and N3 - substituted ureas and thioureas; Glycopeptides etc by both traditional method as well as solid phase combinatorial approach. The synthesized compounds were screened for their antitubercular, antidiebetic, antifungul and antifilarial activity. Some of them showed significant activity both in vitro as well as in vivo and they were patented.
