Year of establishment: 1931. The Photography and its reproduction technology like general Photography, Photomicrography, Macrography, Print making, Document copying, Colour transparency, Block and
offset plate making, Silk Screen printing, Movie film preparation, Digital photography, Power point presentation, Animation and Cartooning, Poster preparation, Designing, Diagrams, Charts Lay outs preparation,
Dark room processing, Graphic Arts and other related audio visual modern technology is used in Central Photo Unit as a recording and reproduction tool in Teaching and scientific research. It offers carrier opportunities
to the researchers, Scientist and Teachers of the Institute. It is a main method to flourish ideas among needy persons. The Agricultural students, Teachers, Scientist and Farmers learn their subject more easily with the
Visual Photographic presentation of the research findings. In view of the above, the college of Agriculture in its initial stage itself had established a Photographic Laboratory with a single post of Photo-Artist under
direct control of the Principal, AgricultureCollege. An additional post of Artist cum Photographer was created in the same grade and was filled in the year 1968. It was attached with the then section of Extension Wing,
at present it is Department of Extension Education. Another Third post of Photo Artist was sanctioned to the central Photo Unit under VIIth Plan. At present the Photographic needs for the final findings visual recording
of all the eleven departments of the Institute, Two sections, and more then ten large research projects with the academic activities of Kisan-Mela, Kisan Gosthi, Annual sports, Convocation, Institute day,
Flower Show etc and other works are performed by the Central Photo Unit. Needles to add that the sister Institute, like Institute of Technology, Institute of Medical Sciences and others like Social sciences,
Sanskrit College, Women’s College, Faculty of Visual Arts, Department of Journalism, Central registry and others have requested time to time for Photographic help in visual recording which indeed, done by the
central Photo Unit of the Institute with their entire satisfaction. Many Photo-Exhibitions on MALAVIYA JI and BHU have been organised by the Central Photo Unit with the financial help of Central registry. A
MALAViYA GALLERY created in Malaviva Bhawan in which all the Photographic Blow Ups have prepared by the Central Photo Unit. A postal stamp on BHU was released by the Government of India. The Photo Design of the above
postal stamp is also prepared by the Photo Unit on the order of the Registrar, BHU. In the end all kinds of Photographic work, which is impossible to do by others is easily done by us. This the single Photographic Unit
of its kind in the University, which is processing Colour Transparency Film in his own Photographic lab and have the modern digital Imaging Studio for electronic media.
