Objectives
Objectives of the conference: The major objectives of the conference are:
- To provide platform to the learned functionaries & beneficiaries of higher education from within the country and abroad to address the issues related to quality higher education;
- To discuss the related issues at National as well as International levels; in order to identify issues related to:
- Factors affecting quality teaching & research and in turn quality higher education;
- Strategies workable to improve quality higher education;
- To bring out guidelines to improve quality higher education.
Factors affecting quality teaching and research may include:
- Factors beyond the control of teachers such as:
- Characteristics and or level of students
- Facilities available
- Organizational climate
- Examination system
- Opportunities for improvement of skills, content and knowledge etc.,
- Factors within control of teachers such as:
- Mastery over content
- Inter-disciplinary & multi-disciplinary approach
- Teacher enthusiasm
- Job satisfaction
- Teacher-Student orientation
- Mastery of Skills
- Attitude towards teaching profession etc.
- Strategies to improve quality teaching & research may include:
- Institutional accountability
- Support system meant for improvement
- Innovative good practices
- Use of technologies
- Appraisal of teachers
- Appreciation/incentives for effective teachers etc.
