BHU Newsletter re-launched

The Banaras Hindu University News which has started its publication after a gap of 14 years was released in a simple ceremony at the Vice Chancellor's Lodge by Lt. General V. K. Dheer, AVSM, Director General and Senior Colonel Commandant of Corps of Electronic Mechanical Engineering (EME). The Vice Chancellor, Professor P. Ramachandra Rao presided over the release ceremony.

The newsletter of ideas & news has been edited by Information and Public Relations Officer Dr. Vishwanath Pandey containing a wide spectrum of information regarding academic activities, appointments and overview of research etc. The Newsletter contains personal Information like faculty honour and retirement. It also have discussion forum research perspectives.

The newsletter stopped its publication in 1991 because of shortage of resources and was re-launched on the motivation of the present Vice Chancellor.

This newsletter is also available on the BHU website : www.bhu.ac.in for wider circulation and would be published bi-monthly.

While releasing the newsletter, Lt. Gen. Dheer, remarked that it was his cherished dream to visit to Banaras Hindu University which is unique blend of culture and scientific studies. He described BHU as rare kind of Institution. Lt. Gen. later visited Institute of Technology and interacted with the faculty. He was accompanied by the commandant and Managing Director, 508 Army Base Workshop, Brigadier O.A. James.
