VILLAGE PROJECT:

The Department has started a village project to collect data about the basic problems/ needs like education, health, sanitation etc. of the people. The students of the department divide themselves in the groups to work in specific areas. Students visit Tikri and Tarapur villages once a week. Their work has brought some changes in the residents of the villages.

FILM FESTIVAL:

The department organized a Seminar cum Film Festival on "The Films of Satyajit Ray" in the month of March 2009. Five films of Ray were shown and Satyajit Ray Memorial Lecture was presented by Prof. Gaston Roberge. The students of Telivision, Radio and Films presented their seminar papers during this event.

SEMINAR & WORKSHOPS:

Seminar and workshops are organized regularly in the department to strengthen the knowldge and improve the communication skills of students. These activities improve their abilities to compete in the job market. Some workshops that were held recently were on:

Online Journalism

Webpage Designing with the objective of Creating the Department Website

PUBLICATIONS:

The department ha its own publications, namely Parisar, Gramvarta,Varuna. The details are in Publications page.
