Banaras Hindu University conducted the PMT/PAT–2008 (Screening) Examination on 7^th May, 2008 at four centres namely Varanasi, New Delhi, Kolkata and Hyderabad. A total of 35918 candidates applied for PMT/PAT-2008; of these 31557 candidates appeared in the test and 4361 candidates remained absent. First 2000 (General Category), 450 (SC category), 200 (ST category) and 100 (Physically Disabled) have been short listed to appear for BHU PMT-2008 (Main) Examination scheduled to be held on Sunday 15^th June, 2008 at the BHU, Varanasi, only. The candidates of SC, ST & PD Category who have obtained good rank have been included in the General category list only. 

The result is roll number wise and not merit wise.
