SEVAARTH For serving Humanity


Recent Activities : Joy of Giving Week 2010

      Sevaarth is a social, voluntary movement started by the students of the Faculty of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University under the Special Assistance programme (SAP) sponsored by University Grants Commission. Sevaarth encourages goodwill towards the needy and will step in for the betterment of society. This initiative was inaugurated by Prof. D.P. Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor on 12 September 2009.

Focus Areas:

 
  1. Social sensitization and advocacy
  2. Assisting old age homes and orphanages.
  3. Creating awareness regarding social and environmental issues.
  4. Assisting NGOs to help them serve better.
  5. Arranging Medical check up camps, blood donation camps and eye donation awareness camps.
  6. Annual rural fair for enhancement of rural economy.
  7. Creating awareness for in-campus, cleanliness.
  8. Organizing ganga-ghats cleanliness campaign in Varanasi.

Activities:

 
  1. Formation of SEVAARTH on 12 September 2009
  2. Blood Donation Camp as an inaugural event on 12th September 2009.
  3. Blanket Distribution to the poor patients admitted in the SS Hospital on the eve of Pt. Madan Mohan Malaviya’s Birth Anniversary .
  4. Visit to the various social Entrepreneurs / Social Enterprises
    1. Prem Jyoti Vidhyalaya, Chiraigaon, Varanasi (3rd December 2009, World Disability Day)
    2. Surabhi Sodh Sansthan, Dagmagpur, Mirzapur (14th February 2010) .
  5. Invited TATA Jagriti Yatra Team for interaction session with students of management to create awareness for serving the community on 20th February 2010 as part of the National Workshop on Social Entrepreneurship @ B-Schools.
