Intellectual sharing :
The most important facilitation is the availability and accessibility of intellectuals across almost all known disciplines for any interdisciplinary research and consultation under one roof. Students, research scholars and faculty members are free to consult with any other teachers, scholars and students of different academic units of the University. This is one of the rarest situations to be seen across the world.
Concurrent programs:
Students may also join diploma programs in Foreign Language, courses in Faculty of Visual Arts, Faculty of Performing Arts concurrently.
Central Library and department libraries:
Again, the rarest feature for any one in the Campus with a quench of knowledge is his/her accessibility to the Central Library and other departmental libraries. (The University is having 115 departments across known disciplines). There are about 1.5 million books and a number of journals, magazines, fortnights, weeklies, news papers in different languages available in the Central Library of the University.

Health Care:
There are separate health complexes for students and staff members at different locations in the Campus providing health care services 24X7. The SS Hospital in the University is providing almost all modern available treatment facility for free to its students, scholars and staff members.
Auditoriums:
Besides, Swatantrata Bhawan the main Auditorium of the University with exhibition space, senate hall, there are many other auditoriums, seminar halls, conference halls are available in the University Campus.
Sports and recreation:
Several play grounds, stadiums, indoor stadium, amphitheatre, Tennis courts, squash courts, volleyball courts, basket ball courts, swimming pool, mountaineering club, Flying club, etc. are available. Besides Shivaji Hall Gymnasium, there are several other facilitations for maintaining physical wellness of the university community.
Cultural/ Spiritual :
The Vishwanath Temple is one of the major place of attraction in the University not only for the university community, but for the tourists from across the globe. Bharat Kala Bhawan Museum is another attraction. Madhuban is one of the parks in the Campus. No alumni of the University will forget the moments they spent in this beautiful part during their student life in the Campus.
Proctorial services maintaining the law and order within the campus plays vital role in controlling social menace like ragging, Hostels, Transportation for students, 24 hour electric and power supply, over 6 branches of nationalized Banks, ATMs, 3 Post Offices, Telephone exchange, Railway Reservation Centre, and a lot of other facilities.
Connectivity :
The Campus is well connected with other parts of the world through Varanasi Airport, Railway Station, Bus Station besides having its own Airstrip for micro-lite planes and Helicopters.

Faculty is an integral part of the Banaras Hindu University - A Central University established through Parliament Act NO. XVI OF 1915.
The University campus is spread over 4000 acres of land in two different campus viz, Main Campus at Varanasi and Rajiv Gandhi South Campus at Barkachha, Mirzapur. The Campus is very systematically planned and developed. Besides academic units, there are several play grounds, residential colonies, agricultural farms, Dairy farm, fisheries and poultry farms, water harvesting plants across the Campus. Most importantly, the greenery visible in the Campus is providing extreme relaxation and the ambience is extremely congenial for academic activities.
The Central facilities are common to the entire BHU family and thus available to the students, scholars and staff members of the Faculty too.
