Rejuvenation is an ideal measure for excellent nourishment
of rasa dhatu. Rejuvenation therapy enhances longevity, memory, intellect,
youth, luster, complexion and potentiality of the body and gives freedom
from the diseases.
Modes of Rasayana (Rejuvenation)
1. Diet (Ahara or Ajasrika Rasayana)- Milk, Ghee, Wheat etc.
2. Behavioral Rejuvenation (Achara Rasayana)
Speaking truth, refraining from anger, respecting God, elders, preceptors
etc. are included in Achara Rasayana.
(i) Bala Rasayana- Medicines given during infancy to enhance the immunity,
intellect, digestive fire, longevity, memory power and prevent various
diseases. Ex. Gold rubbed with honey, Brahmi, Mandukaparni, Shatavari
(ii) Kamya Rasayana- Rejuvenation to enhance strength, vitality, intellect,
complexion. Ex. Bala, Atibala, Vidari, Shankhapushpi, Mandukaparni, Guduchi
(iii) Naimittika Rasayana- Rejuvenation in the disease condition e.g.
Shatavari, Pippali, Shilajatu etc.
