LL.B. (Bachelor of Law) Course
For the purpose of LL.B. (Honours)(Three Year) Course admission, the Banaras Hindu University conducts Undergraduate Entrance Test (UET), during 3rd - 4th week of May every year. Admissions are made according to merit in the UET, subject to fulfilling of eligibility requirements mentioned below and availability of seats.
Note: Presently, in BHU - Faculty of Law, there is no Five Years LL.B. Course after 12th Class.
LL.M. (Master of Law)
For the purpose of admissions in two different kinds of LL.M Courses, Banaras Hindu University conducts separate Postgraduate Entrance Tests (PET) during May-June in every year. Admissions are made according to merit of the PET, subject to fulfilling of eligibility requirements and availability of seats. In BHU there are two kinds of LL.M. courses as under:
1. LL.M. ( this course is also known as LL. M.(General) because within the University this course comes under the category of 'General Course' and it is a non self financing course ).
Duration of the Course: Four Semesters (Two Years)
No. of Seats: 38 (Approx.)
Note: In addition to the aforesaid total 38 seats , there exists10 per cent Supernumerary Seats under category of 'Paid Seats':
2. LL.M. Course in Human Rights & Duties Education (HRDE)
Duration of the Course: Four Semesters (Two Years),
No. of Seats : 15
Note: LL.M. (HRDE) is basically a self financing course (it comes under the category of 'Special Course' in the University) and annual fee of this course, in addition to the regular University fee, is Rs. 30,000/-(Thirty Thousand) per annum.
