BHU Press is Printing various type of Books, Journals, Registers, Forms, Urgent Printing work of Sir Sunder Lal Hospital and Office of the Controller of Examinations since 1936. The campus areas is covering 80,000 sq. ft. and Building construction is 25,000 sq.ft. of BHU Press. Here seven letter press machines were equipped in the beginning.
There is a Multi-Media Room in the information and Public Relations Office which is air-conditioned. A Media Conference Hall along with latest facilities of Power Point Projector, Public Address System and computers with internet facility is situated on the first floor of the office. The media conference room is furnished with tables and chairs, sufficient for organizing conferences having 35-40 media persons. This hall is also air-conditioned. .
The Media Conference Hall has become very popular amongst University fraternity for organizing Press Conference and 15 such media conferences had been organized during Academic Session 2011-12
Fifteen interview of Hon'ble Vice Chancellor and approximately 20 interviews of officers and faculty members were taken up by different media members, with the help of PPP Cell.
2000 visitors came to the office personally and 3000 persons enquired on telephone and through e-mails to know about various programmes and courses of the university.
More than 2000 press releases were issued through text, fax and e-mails to local and national media, disseminating information about various programmes of the University.
In the Print media, 5000 news of development activities of BHU were published. Many success stories were also telecasted on electronic channels.
News letters, special issues and brochures were published from Press, Publication and Publicity Cell during 2011-12.
In the reference year the Press Publication and Publicity Cell has issued 358 advertisements related to various academic programs, employment opportunities and adhoc projects to local and national level media.
Besides doing routine jobs the Press Publication and Publicity Cell has helped in organizing 94th Convocation addressed by Hon'ble Speaker of Loksabha Smt. Meira Kumar. The Press Publication and Publicity Cell also been successfully contributed in organizing programmes of famous personalities like Chancellor Dr. Karan Singh, workshops and lectures of leading scientists from India and abroad and annual functions of University. The performance of Press Publication and Publicity Cell became noteworthy in stabilizing the brand BHU in the country.
PPP Cell participated in several meetings at BHU level and contributed for improving the Brand Image of BHU.
