The primary objective of my research is to study the cytotoxic effects of some of the chemotherapeutic agent of plant origin as well as novel synthetic complexes in controlling tumor growth. Efforts are also being made to link the indigenous knowledge of medicinal plant to modern research activity to provide a new approach for effective drug discovery. Studies are also focused on expression of microRNAs in hypoxia condition during tumorigenesis so as to develop prognostic markers for cancer diagnosis as well as efficient targets for cancer therapy
