Baby Care: There is a facility of baby care for those participants who are supposed to bring their little kids. The charge for baby care is Rs 75/- per day per baby from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

For those who have submitted Abstracts:
1. All submitted abstracts are accepted fro 15 - 20 minutes oral presentation. Exact timing can be checked once details of schedule for oral presentation are put on the web by the end of November.
2. Please see the abstract on the web page. Make sure that title, authors list and affiliation has come correctly. Fill in the name and email address of the author presenting the paper.
3. Submit 2 - 3 pages PDF file of write up in Phys Rev format by 25th of November so that it could be brought out in the proceedings at the time of symposium.
4. Try to complete the required inputs. Incomplete abstracts might get removed from abstract book and /or the HEP08 programme.
People arriving at Airport shall be informed individually about the details via e-mail. Taxi arrangements will be done. University Bus or other vehicle with the template (HEP08) shall be there at Varanasi (Cant) and Mughal Saray Railway stations to pick you up as per schedule given below:
13/12/2008: 5:30 am, 10:30 am, 06:00 pm and 07:00 pm. 14/12/2008: 5:00 am, 07:30 am, 08:30 am and 09:00 am.
Else you can hire a Rickshaw/ Auto-Rickshaw/ Rs. 30/ 70/ to reach related Guest House / Hotels
Volunteers will be there to guide you further for your accommodation etc.
Railway reservation counter (9 am / 1 pm & 2 pm / 4 pm) is located close to academic area near Naria gate of BHU.
Accommodation shall be available from 13th to 18th. We are planning to end the sessions by lunch time on 18th. Allotment shall be made as soon as we know about your arrival and departure plan. Details shall be put on the web by end of November.
All the food arrangements have been made at Swatantrata Bhawan starting from Dinner on 13th till lunch on 15th.
Closer markets are at the main gate (Lunka), inside campus near Aiyar Hostel and at Vishwanath temple.
At the moment we do not have enough travel grants but some assistance to the students and faculty members particularly from colleges and universities (who have no other sources of funding) can be considered. Local hospitality shall be taken care from symposium grants. If DST is generous to give us grants, it may be possible to finance some more participants. Situation might be clear by end of November.
Registration fee of Rs. 500/- from students and Rs. 1000/- from others shall be charged at the time of registration on 13th evening (4 - 7 pm) and on 14th morning (8:15 - 9:15 am) at Swatantrata Bhawan (Venue for the Symposium).
Both the overhead projector and multimedia slide projector options are there for oral presentation.
Participants shall have internet browsing facility available at computer-corner in Swatantrata Bhawan ground floor on production of HEP08 badges to the security personal.

In Indian religion the Sun is the symbol of the light of knowledge and so the Banaras Hindu University. The layout of the University is logically modeled on sunrise. As from the down onwards, the streaks of light from the Sun overspread the sky, similar has been growth of the University.

The holy Buddhist place, Sarnath is in its precincts . Varanasi is the premiere most place of oriental learning. Simultaneously it is keeping pace with modern advanced knowledge. It has three universities .one Tibetan Institute and an Institute of Arabic Studies. The city is reputed for silk fabrics, perfumes, artistic brass and copper wares and a variety of handicrafts. It is an important centre of literature, art and culture. It has produced great poets. writers, musicians and scholars. This vibrant city of joy knowledge and liberation has a magnetic attraction for people all over the world.
General Information about Varanasi:
Varanasi is well connected both by air and rail with all the important places of India. Its distance from Delhi is about 800 km. The Railway station (Cant) is about 10 km, Mughal Saray is 20 km and the airport about 32 km from the University. The city is relatively free from the menace of pollution.
