Scope & Objective

=============================================================================================

A conference on Mesogenic and Ferroic Materials (CMFM09) is to be organized by Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi at the Department of Physics, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India from January 9-11, 2009.

            The science of liquid crystalline materials has come of age and has achieved the status of being a very exciting interdisciplinary field of scientific and industrial research. Ferroics cover the materials such as, ferromagnetic, ferroelectric, ferroelastic, ferrogyrotropic, etc. The discovery of newer and newer ferroic materials, due to the present technological demand are opening up new avenues of challenges in basic and applied researches. The objective of the conference is to bring together researchers working in the diverse area of field and to provide a forum to discuss and examine the recent advances and key issues associated with the field and the emerging trends. The conference will pursue a balance between young and mature researchers, well-established and young groups, depth and practical relevance of contributions, traditional and novel topics. These people will come together to learn from one another and the traditional academic distinctions between their specialized areas may become increasingly irrelevant to the exciting domain of knowledge.
