This department came into existence in the Institute of Medical Sciences in 1972. At the moment the department offers only post graduate training in Prosthodontics and in Operative Dentistry. The department after its growing importance was upgraded to the Faculty of Dental Sciences in 2004. The efforts were made and BDS course as well as MDS course in the specialty of Orthodontics, Periodontia, and Dental Auxilliary courses started.
