Coordination Chemistry- Synthesis and Characterization of Liquid Crystals (Mesogens),Metal containing Liquid Crystals (Metallomesogens), Liquid Crystals based Sensors, Molecuar Magnetic Materials, Macrocyclic metal complexes as radiopharmaceuticals:Synthesis of advance functional materials with special interest lying in the design and development of mesogens (liquid crystalline materials), metallomesogens (metal containing liquid crystalline materials), SMM (single molecular magnets), materials of radiopharmaceutical importance. Currently working on Design and development of 99mTc based new imaging agents for diagnostic purposes and their applications as target specific radiopharmaceuticals, CNT dispersed liquid crystalline materials and liquid crystalline materials capable to interact with biological samples such as DNA for optical detection and differentiation of biological systems. 19 students have been awarded Ph.D. degree in these areas and 150 papers are published in national international journals of repute besides Scientific presentations and Invited lectures in International and National Conferences..
